BETTY C. CLARK, PRESIDENT/PROJECT MANAGER
Ms. Clark, president of ICAPS, founded the firm in 1988 to provide audit and administrative evaluation services for self-funded and self-administered health, dental, and disability plans. - Benefit plan booklet and communication review
- Development of plan specific audit worksheets
- Auditing of health, dental, short-term disability and long-term disability claims, in addition to specific and aggregate audits
- Project management
- Operational review from claim submission to claim payment or denial
- Review and resolution of any contested claims
- Review and recommendation of potential for recovery either through performance agreements, electronic audits or audit findings
- Plan design and benefit philosophy consulting
Prior to founding ICAPS, Ms. Clark held various positions in third party paying and billing organizations. Her prior positions included: Operations Manager for a national medical billing company, Claims Manager for a regional health maintenance organization (HMO), Director of Group and Individual Claims for a Midwest-based insurance company, and Claims Manager for a regional third party administrator (TPA).
Ms. Clark is an Associate of Life and Health Claims through the International Claims Association (ICA) and an Associate of the Health Insurance Association of America (HIAA) and has completed segments of Life Office Management Association (LOMA). She is a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefits, Insurance Women of Minnesota, and the Midwest Fraud Association. She has received HIAA designations as a Managed Healthcare Professional (MHP) and Health Insurance Associate (HIA). She continuously updates her education in the employee benefits field through HIAA.
